Tour Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrive Colombo. Proceed to Dambulla
Arrive Colombo and proceed to Dambulla. En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which shelters more than 70 orphaned elephants and visit Herbal Garden. Afternoon visit the Cave Temple at Dambulla.  This Cave Temple is the largest and best preserved rock cave temple in Sri Lanka housing 153 statues of Buddha and 4 statues of other Gods and Goddesses.  This is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that King Valagam Bahu took refuge in the 1st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Some of the frescoes are over 2,000 years old and there is a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha carved out of the living rock, some 14 meters long.  Enjoy your dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 – Dambulla – Sigiriya – Kandy
After breakfast, you depart for Sigiriya. The mighty rock face named “Sigiriya” also known as the ( Lion’s Rock ) , this is the 8th wonder of the world, the rock fortress built by King Kassapa in the 5th Century AD is declared as a World Heritage site, preserved frescos add glamour to the site. Later you proceed for  Kandy. Visit the Spice Garden in Matale. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavor food but also in medicine and cosmetics. While visiting a Spice Garden you could sample such scents and flavors as cinnamon, ginger, pepper, vanilla, cardamom and many more. You check into your hotel and rest of the afternoon. In the evening visit Dālada Maligai, the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dālada) of Lord Buddha that is the most venerated object of worship for Buddhists. Later witness spectacular dance performances (Cultural show).  Enjoy your dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03 – Kandy to Nuwara
After breakfast,  we check-out and leave for Nuwara Eliya. You  will visit the Gem Museum in Kandy. En route you also visit The Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya. The Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya was established in 1821 and now covers an area of 140 acres, snuggled in a loop in the Mahaweli River, the longest river in Sri Lanka. Continue your journey towards Nuwara Eliya watching the scenic and panoramic view throughout the journey. En route visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda. An ancient story says, Ramboda is the area, where the forces of Rama gathered to fight against King Ravana. This temple houses the 16 feel height statue of Hanuman. Also visit Labukele Tea Factory – Ceylon tea is acclaimed as the best tea in the world. The influence of climatic conditions imparts to the product a variety of flavors and aromas, synonymous with quality. The cultivation and manufacture of tea is presently a highly skilled, scientific and technical process, with Sri Lanka producing some of the most fragrant teas in the world. Nuwara Eliya is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka. Once a pleasure retreats of the European planters the town is still very much an English town with many English style bungalows and buildings. Enjoy a tour of Nuwara Eliya town. In the evening check in to your hotel and enjoy Dinner. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 04 – Nuwara  to Bentota
Have breakfast at the hotel, check-out and proceed for Bentota, one of the most sought after destinations in Sri Lanka because of it golden sand beaches and water sports like windsurfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and relax
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05 – Bentota City Tour
After the breakfast at the hotel, head out for the City Tour of Bentota. On your tour, take a boating tour on the Madu River and enjoy the scenic beauty of this place. You can also visit the amazing Turtle Hatchery here which is a well-protected hatchery and observe 5 species of turtles laying their eggs. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06 – Bentota to Colombo
Have breakfast at the hotel and move towards Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. On arrival, take a City tour of Colombo. Visit the various indoor and outdoor markets and buy the world famous Ceylon tea, designer clothes and jewellery. Explore the historical places, forts, Cinnamon gardens the Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park and much more. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07 – Depart Colombo
Today will be the last day of your Sri Lanka tour package. Have breakfast at the hotel, check-out and head towards the airport to catch your flight for your onward journey.
